Best Guns for Concealed Carry

Best Guns for Concealed Carry does not have a simple answer. There is an ongoing debate about which gun is the best for concealed carry. This debate will likely never end either since it is strictly an opinion-based argument with valid facts thrown in. It varies from person to person. What may be the best gun for concealed carry for you may not be the best for me. In this article we are going to leave out the caliber argument, we have a whole separate blog on the best concealed carry calibers. We are strictly going to focus on which firearms fit the bill for concealed carry. We are going to discuss 3 things in this article that you will want to consider when you are looking for a concealed carry firearm. The first thing to consider is size. Does the firearm fit in your hand comfortably? Are you able to control the firearm when you shoot it? Are you able to conceal the firearm? Check out the 4 things you need to consider before you decide to carry a firearm.

Best Guns for Concealed Carry Based On Size

Best Guns for Concealed Carry

Size is one of the biggest factors when discerning which pistol is the best concealed carry gun for you. The ability to conceal a firearm hinges on its size relative to you. Too big, and the gun “prints” heavily, meaning the outline of the firearm is visible to those around you through your shirt, defeating the purpose of concealing. Too small, and you’ll find yourself struggling to control the firearm or perhaps even to find it as you attempt to draw. Handguns are like a well-fitting suit. You can immediately tell when someone is wearing something that isn’t their size or style because they don’t look remotely comfortable. However, the best-concealed carry gun is the one that fits just right. The best-concealed carry guns for their size are the ones that can meet these criteria: 1) Well fitting in the hand 2) Comfortable to shoot 3) Ability to conceal. The best-concealed carry gun is the one that meets those criteria for YOU. We have found that for size, our clients have loved firearms like the Sig P365, the Smith & Wesson Shield Plus and the Glock 43, among so many others. The micro pistol/concealed pistol market is full of options, including different calibers. Finding a gun that fits in your hand, which can also carry ample rounds and be chambered in a quality caliber is vital. Best Guns For Concealed Carry Based On Capacity

Best Guns for Concealed Carry

Capacity, the number of rounds your gun can hold, is a critical factor for finding the best concealed carry gun. Your most micro carry guns usually hold around six rounds in the magazine, with the largest capacity for a carry gun being around 15. Handguns like the Sig P938 or P328, are great guns for deep concealment but do only have six rounds in the magazine at a time. Newer entrants to the concealed carry market, are handguns such as the Glock 43X, the Sig P365, and the Springfield Hellcat. These handguns almost, or do double that minimum carry of six rounds. What makes these some of the best-concealed carry pistols is that they are small, easy to handle, and carry anywhere between 10 to 13 rounds in their standard magazines. With all this in mind, the best-concealed carry pistols are also the ones easiest to reload. Becoming familiar with the mechanics of your pistol, and being able to rapidly reload is critical for someone carrying a firearm. It is important to carry an extra magazine as most gunfights require a reload. While it is good to have a healthy amount of rounds in the magazine, it is poor practice to not carry a spare. Just think, if having 10 in the magazine is good, having 20 on the body is grand. Other popular concealed options are the Glock 19 Gen 5 and the Sig Sauer P320.

These are considered compact handguns, but they are likely as large as you can comfortably and practically conceal.  They hold 15 rounds in a standard magazine which is a nice ample number of rounds. Both firearms are used by police and military groups and they are known for their reliability.
